Code coverage is the perfect example of the old maxim that “hings get worse before they get better”. Everyone’s experience with code coverage is basically the same. The first time you run code coverage, you are horrified because no matter how comprehensive you think your test suite is, the initial percent coverage is surprisingly low. That’s the beauty of using code coverage – it gives you a useful quantitative result to replace a qualitative guess which is almost always wildly optimistic.
